In response to feedback we received as part of the surveys we put out at the end of the spring season, we have created an online discussion board for ASC coaches to share information. You can peruse the existing questions without logging in. When you login (registration required, see below) you can read and/or provide answers and comments to any ongoing discussions. If you want to get an answer on something that is not working in your coaching experience, post a question. If you just feel like sharing information, start a discussion by posting your idea as a question (doesn’t have to be in the form of a question) and then post an answer yourself. If you want to add to a conversation, add another answer. There is no one way to coach – we want to hear multiple views on the issues we face in teaching & managing soccer to Arlington kids.
Here is a sampling of the questions you will see:
- How often do I need to play each player?
- What are some techniques/strategies for behavior problems?
- Which local tournaments are good for rec teams?
- What is the best formation for 7v7, 9v9 or 11v11?
We would love your participation! This forum will only get better the more people participate and contribute. We will only post questions, answers or comments to users who have logged in so that your full name is recorded (and posted) along with your question/answer/comment. Our preferred method for you to log in is to use your Facebook credentials. This is a service provided by Facebook – we do not see your login information. We understand that not everyone wishes to have a Facebook account so we can also create accounts on this site (but we will provide only minimal user support for your login).
The ASC board will be checking in regularly, especially those involved with coaching development. The Challenger coaches (led by Paige) will also be checking the question list.
The forum will be lightly moderated – all questions/answers/comments within ASC community standards will stay posted. We will also be emailing to coaches on a periodic basis (about once every two weeks) the latest questions and topics from the forum.
