The ASC fields over 45 travel teams every season and is one of the largest town programs in BAYS. ASC BAYS Teams
Teams in this program are comprised of players of equivalent skill and compete against similar teams from other towns. The schedule consists of 10 games per season starting in early September for Fall and early April for Spring. ASC teams play five of their BAYS games in Arlington and five at the opposing teams’ fields.

The ASC fields travel teams for U9, U10, U11, U12, U13 and U14 for both the Fall and Spring Seasons, as well as U16 and U18 for the Spring Season. U9 through U13 teams are generally single-age groups based on birthdates, though players are allowed to play up one age group to play with their grade. U14 teams are either a combination of 7th and 8th graders, or all 8th graders.

We field as many teams as necessary to roster all U11-U14 players who register by our deadlines, with no more than two teams in all age groups (except U13) selected at tryouts and all remaining players assigned to teams. The ASC reserves the right to limit U9 and U10 travel teams to one team per age group and gender based on age-group enrollment. The great majority our U9 and U10 players compete in our vibrant intown league against other Arlington teams

BAYS teams practice twice a week, scheduled by the associated coach before the season starts. Players are required to attend a minimum of one practice per week, and ideally, two, though we do accommodate players with scheduling conflicts who can only make one practice per week.

Standings and Tournaments
While standings are kept for both seasons, the Fall Season is for player and team development season, and standings are only for purposes of spring placement. The Spring Season is the competitive season and all Spring Season section winners in U11 and older win trophies (U11 and U12) or T-shirts (U14 and older).

For Spring Season only, teams placed in Division 1 and 2 U12-U16 (except U13) and Division 1 U18 qualify for the BAYS playoffs for the right to represent BAYS at the Massachusetts Tournament of Champions (MTOC) against teams from the other nine town-based leagues in Massachusetts. U12 and U14 teams playing the spring season in Division 3 can also choose enter the BAYS President Cup, where they compete against other BAYS towns in a knock-out style tournament. In compliance with the Mass Youth Soccer policies on non-results oriented play for teams playing BU10 or younger, all U9 and U10 players competing in BAYS get participation medals at the end of the spring season.
